I always want to be as young as spring
As young as flowers blooming in the grass
And smell the sweet perfume such blossoms bring
And never let such simple beauty pass
I always want my best friend at my side
As young as I, forever and a day
One bright spring day to wander far and wide
Becomes forever,never slips away
I always want the sky to be as blue
As on the day my friend and I first met
As ancient trees remember to renew
Their flowers in the spring, I won’t forget
How we were young as spring eternally
My friend, your friend I always want to be

Monday, October 6th, 2008The Color of Friendship
Monday, October 6th, 2008I went to give my friend a gift today,
a friendly gift of yellow, red and blue.
My friend, you see, was feeling kind of gray,
so color seemed a friendly thing to do.
She said, “I like this yellow, bright and sweet;
it seems to want to spread itself around.
And red! You read my mind. So bold and neat,
like something that was lost but now is found.”
“This blue,” she cried and held it in the air,
“is light and soft; it makes a happy noise.”
So yellow, red and blue were everywhere;
my friend had filled her world with all their joys.
Together we enjoyed this splendid scene,
then noticed orange, purple, and some green.
