For Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie Alderson

I think I met my sister, just this week
She feels just like a sister to my soul
I know to meet her thus is quite unique
And yet she’s less to meet than to extol!

A little thing with muscles made of steel
She’s Steel-town proud, but humble in her heart
I hope she knows how proud I am to feel
That I’m her brother in my humble part

She won the Dirty Dozen, just last year
We rode around her town, with all its hills
At times I wished I had a bigger gear
These Steelers all have iron hearts and wills!

My sister knows she can depend on me
And yes, my sister’s name is Anne Marie!

Mari Starts Here

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Nobody knew if I would live or die
They wanted me to live; I know she did
I’m angry that I made my lover cry
If I had all control, I would forbid
Myself to lay all broken and receive
My lover’s whispered words, that I’m to heal
So we can come together and conceive.
I’d touch my lover’s breast and I would feel
The softness she prepares for baby’s milk
And thus I know I must become complete
Her softness and her warmth are strong as silk
And I must conjure strength and frictious heat
She whispered I must heal so we can make
A baby, not some asinine mistake!

#3 of 14 Things I Love About You: Your Curves

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

I love your curves, they’re soft, and warm, and you
Enticement is a shape that has no edge
Your shape is pure enticement; this is true
I love your curves and all that they allege
With proven allegations they entice
I love you Love, whatever shape you are
Your curves are more than curves; they are precise
Precision that entices from afar!
But hold me close; come curve around my heart
I want to hold your curves within my arms
I never want to be too far apart
Or far away from all your curves and charms!
The softness and the warmth of all your curves
Is more than anyone like me deserves!

Of Course

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

We kissed and said, “I love you,” at the start
But what we started, neither one could know
Of course she said, “I love you,” from her heart
I kissed her like I didn’t want to go
I didn’t, but we both had things to do
and yet, within her kiss, I knew she’d stay
Whatever things I asked of her, I knew
“Of course,” would be the words that she would say
If anything was difficult or worse
I knew within my heart that she’d be true
Her promises were nothing she’d rehearse
Her love forever ever would imbue
my heart, my soul with beauty she can’t hide
Nor would she try to keep it locked inside.

#2 of 14 Things I Love About You: Your Body

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

I love your body, always next to mine
I love your arms around me when we’re close
Within your arms, your warmth is so divine
That word feels right, it’s not too grandiose
Your body is a warm, exquisite place
In beauty it protects your treasured heart
And though you wear its beauty on your face
You’re more than just a precious work of art
Like warmth or art, as similes abound
Your body knows no end of poetry
I love your body, and I’m glad I’ve found
Your treasured heart and glad that you found me
Your body near my body helps me know
Away from you, I never want to go.

#1 of 14 Things I Love About You: Your Hands

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

I love your hands, they seem to love me too
I love the way your fingers touch my skin
My hands applaud the things your hands can do
Come place your hand in mine as we begin
The journey that our hands already know
Along the paths and trails our hearts define
I love the places where, our hands will go
And if your hand gets cold, I’ll give you mine
I’ve got to hand it to your loving hands
They handle life with soft and subtle care
Your handiwork unfolds as peace expands
Your loving hands caress me everywhere
Come press your palms where loving hands belong
And let your hands conduct my simple song.
